Sensitive safety
These categories need specialised support — not a public map. Indian law (Nipun Saxena, 2018) bars identifying location for sexual offences and minor-victim cases. Everything below is private and handled by professionals.
Applies across India. Civic numbers may differ by city. Last reviewed 18 August 2026.
If it just happened
- You are not to blame. What you do next is your choice.
- Call 112 or 1091 (women's helpline) when you are ready.
- For sexual offences, a medical exam is time-sensitive but NEVER mandatory — you can always decline.
- Childline: 1098 for any child-related case.
Support and counselling
- iCall (TISS): 9152987821, Mon–Sat, 8am–10pm.
- Vandrevala Foundation: 1860-2662-345, 24×7.
- One-Stop Centre scheme: every district has one. Search 'One Stop Centre [your district]'.
Reporting options
- FIR at any police station under zero-FIR rules; a female officer is your right for sexual offences.
- Section 164 CrPC statement can be given in-camera before a magistrate — more protective than a station statement.
- You can request that the case be handled by a women's cell.
